03.03.2004 - 2nd Chance Darkness
I was really pumped when I found out the Darkness were coming to Detroit in March. I mean I was really really pumped. I felt like I had a jump on the situation since I knew before most people did. I don't watch MTV, VH1 or listen the radio anymore so I don't know how much play they are getting. I thought it'd be pretty easy to get tickets at the door, like we do with most of the shows we go to. Tarry informed me that it might be a good idea to buy tickets ahead of time. I scoffed at him but agreed and went to Ticketmaster the day they went on sale. The teller looked up the show and replied with a SOLD OUT. I felt like I'd been shot in the stomach. I couldn't believe it. So it was my duty to tell Tarry that the tickets had sold out [which I later found out happened in 10 minutes].
We tried to come up with ways to get into the show. The #1 idea was to ask Andy Shuster. Tarry IMed me a couple of days ago with the news that the Darkness were doing an in-store signing at Tower Records from 12-4 the day of the concert. He IMed me a couple days later saying that the venue had been changed from Saint Andrew's Hall to Clutch Cargos and tickets were going on sale soon. I emailed J-Dawg to let him know about the in-store and the new venue. He emailed me back and said that he just bought tickets and to hit ticketmaster. I did and guess what Tarry and Joey? We going to the Darkness, MUTHAFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKAAAAZ
