09.17.2003 - Karaoke Off-Night

Ryan, Krick, Tonia, and I went to the Blind Pig a couple of Mondays ago to human replacement version of karaoke. The lesbian contingent was replaced by gangs of nerds. It seemed like it was gonna be a sing and leave type of night because of the fact that many people weren't there. Ryan's friends the Lab Rat and Amy Lau met him shortly after we arrived. They all went downstairs to play darts while I was waiting to my song. I think I did Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bangles [which seemed to go over ok].

Ryan came back upstairs and was approached by this weird short full-bodied girl. She smiled and said something wack and moved on. Ryan went up and did Say You, Say Me - Lionel Richie. Krick and I noticed that the girl was inching her way to the side of the stage. I was wondering whether she was going to try to sing with him. I wasn't even ready for what was about to happen. He got about 3/4 into the song when she hopped up on stage. She stuck her hand up the back of his shirt and proceeded to take it off. He was trying to sing with one hand and fend her off with the other. It was pretty funny because she was determined to take his shirt off. She pulled his shirt over his head. He pulled it off and tried to keep singing. She wouldn't let him put it back on and he stopped. The crowd was laughing as were Krick, Tonia and I. He was so embarrassed. We went downstairs to tell his friends what they missed and called it a night.

That has never happened at karaoke before [and that living skeleton 80's Rocker doesn't count because he took off his own shirt which he should never ever do again]. It was so entertaining.
