09.26.2002 - Chicago Anomalies

  1. We stopped at a rest stop and a guy in the stall was farting up a storm. Al comes in and says "TEE HEE HEE." C-Pax is in the stall next to the fart culprit and I was holding my mouth closed so I don't laugh. I get into the stall and pee. When I get out of the stall, Al says "Ain't You Never Heard That Before?" C-Pax and I laughed so hard on the way back to the car and inside of it.
  2. Crazy chameleon drag queen. This guy was walking his dog on the Magnificent Mile. At first I just thought it was a weird older woman. Then I realize that the build was too manly too be a woman. It was in fact a crazy older white guy wearing a blouse, a white wig, "in style" worn out jeans and high heels. He looked pretty funny.
  3. On the Magnificent Mile, a blind bum soliciting "StreetWise" [the official homeless publication of Chicago] while repeatedly saying something that sounded like Stripe. We walked past him twice and he was still saying it. He ain't never stopped.
  4. Bum in Wrigleyville. He was laying down on the street with his upper half on the sidewalk and bottom half on the street. The look on his face was hilarious.
  5. Pool Predator Black Mitsubishi Dancing Girl Black Guys. We were shooting pool at Sluggers in Wrigleyville. These 20-something guys were hovering over our table, but didn't put any money down or jump to an open table when one was available. They just stood there looking like predators, one was dressed up like the Mitsubishi Eclipse dancing girl. All I gotta say is they was in the wrong kinda bar to be doing that.
  6. Bad Cover Band. This band did covers of fan favorites such as Nickelback, Matchbox 20 and Nickelback. The lead singer wore an awesome silver shiny shirt and a cell phone the size of a walkie talkie.
  7. Lincoln Park Zoo. A monkey was licking the tree branch he was standing on. The other monkeys were having a paper fight.
  8. Mitsuya Japanese Marketplace in Arlington Heights. We ate lunch there. The first mini restaurant we went to was out of control. The people behind the counter were trying to get us to try everything and kept showing us plates of food to entice us to eat. It was funny but a sensory overload. Hey, good job in freaking us out.

  9. Mitsuya Japanese Marketplace in Arlington Heights. Even though this was a specialized Japanese marketplace there was a lot of Mexicans working there.
