04.13.2002 - The Ghost of...
Yesterday when I got into work I realized that I wasn't able to log on to the network. I thought it was
just some RAM cache thing and rebooted my computer. After the reboot, I tried to log in again. It didn't work.
I told my boss about it and asked her to log in. She couldn't log in either and got a network error. I started freaking
out. I told her it was the angry ghost of Agata [One of the contractors that returned to Vancouver this past weekend].
She started laughing and we called over another guy to look at the computer. We find out that other people in the office
aren't able to connect to the server. I kept saying "Oh no, there really is a ghost here. What are gonna do? We have to trap it like they
do in Ghostbusters" to my boss. I work on the Taylor Harley
Web site at micromanagement, so I dubbed the ghost, The Ghost of micromanagement. We found out an hour later that one of the servers crashed the night before and it needed
to be reset. Anyways, as I was leaving work yesterday. I mentioned to my boss that the
The Ghost of micromanagement better not come into work on Monday. I also said though, it would cool if the ghost did ride in on a Harley with a mullet flapping in the wind. |
