This show was moved from a Sunday night to Monday night which is Canadian Thanksgiving. I knew Bjork was going all glam with this tour playing only in orchestra halls but it huge. Matmos opened up for as well as played with Bjork. Their set was like a mixture of performance art and controlled noise. When I say noise I am talking about the genre of music. Their newest release uses sounds and samples of cosmetic surgery. They opened up their set with a needle poking all over one of Matmos' face and head. It was making cool sounds but disturbed to see live on the screen set up behind them. People were laughing alot as well gasping because of the closeup view of the needle all over that guy's face and head. They also did some other stuff that was really crazy with helium tanks and big 'ens style baloons.

My dress is made out of lab slides, yo!Bjork opened her set dressed in her Mother Goose outfit. It was great to see the Inuit choir, Matmos, harpist and full orchestra performing these songs. The first set was really good but somwhat tame until she played Hidden Place. One of the Inuit girls did this throat singing thing. She was making all these crazy ass moaning and growling noises. I turned to the girl that I sold my extra ticket to after the show and said that the throat singer needed a glass of water or an exorcist, for real though. Cuz she was making scary sounds that girls shouldn't make.

She changed into a red dress that I found out later was made out of hand-painted laboratory slides. They all seemed to put more into this part of the show. Matmos' redo of Army of Me was really good. It sounded alot harsher than the version on Post. Human Behaviour was really good too. She ended the show with Our Hands which was the perfect song to end the show with because of the fast beats and crazy drums. Great show! I definitely thought it was worth to trip to Toronto. I was lucky that I didn't have to worry about work, since I don't really do that these days. A Monday night show in Toronto can be some hard times for us "professionals."
