07.17.2001 - Why Yo Face So Red and 80s?

Atari, yo!Blush, this show was something else. I went to Value Village to try to find some suitable 80s attire the Thursday before the show. I spent the longest time trying to find the perfect ugly outfit. I couldn't help but laugh to myself while going through the clothes. I ended up picking up a pair of stone-washed jeans, striped shorts and the lime green horizontally striped bugle boy shirt. I spent a whole $5.00.

After trying them on, I thought the outfit(s) that were ok but wasn't completely satisfied with them. I was looking through my undershirt drawer and stumbled upon 2 new/old t-shirts that were super 80s out. Perfect!

I ended up wearing the black "Atarian Game Player Inside" t-shirt with the stone-washed jeans. The jeans were one waist size bigger but seriously the tightest things I've ever worn around my legs. I had trouble bending my knees. Brad wore one my "Bat Fever" with some fresh parachute pants. Shazy wore a pink polo shirt, bright blue sweats. We was ready to go.

Bat FeverWe got there an hour late and were surrounded by people in 80s outfits, it was awesome. I didn't feel out of place at all with my 80s burnout getup. I just wish I wore my mullet wig. When we got there we got stuck in the longest line for skates. They ran out of all skates that were larger than size 7. That really sucked because my big ass feet is size 12. I was lucky enough to be at the counter when a guy wearing 10s showed up. I forced my feet into those things. My sis got shoes too. Brad, couldn't get a pair so he went and watched the band play. They were set up on the end of the rink.

Whats up, calisthenics?None of us were very good at skating, but thats what makes it fun. I was helping my sis skate and it seemed like people would bump into us every time knocking us over. Brad was able to get some skates after the band finished up. He was all unbalanced speed demon. I had to stop because my feet were hurting so bad from being crunched into size 10 shoes.

When we were in line to turn in our skates, the guitar girl from Blush gave us free tix to see them open up for Night Ranger and Survivor at the Royal Oak Music Theatre. Woohoo! Talk about 80s, I hope Survivor sings Survivor from Destiny's Child that would be so wack.
