I was walking down 5th Avenue and happened to be alongside two 20ish black guys. I overheard one of them telling the other about how being black is almost like being a celebrity because when people see you they do whatever they can to get out of your way. I looked at him and started laughing. He said "You almost there." [I had a 1 weeklong beard at the time. Which is now a 3.5 weeklong beard] I replied with "Yeah, but I get extra points for having this beard. Since I'm looking all gruff." He replied with a "You almost there."
