12.28.2002 - Har Mar Superstar

My japanese friend [Fusa] from California flew in for week and said that she wanted to go to a concert. She likes the Backstreet Boys and that other poppy stuff. I thought taking her to see Har Mar Superstar would be a good change of pace. I just wanted to see how shocked she was seeing Har Mar's crazy ass performance. So we got there in time to see the openers. The first group was a female wrestler/rock band. Each song was a different match. It was pretty crazy. After they finished, Fusa and I were played a few rounds of hangman. The first phrase I put in was My like your violence [you know what this is if you've ever seen my Karakuri Funniest English tapes]. Actually, I said that phrase to her the whole time she was in Detroit. Erin met up with us a little while afterwards. The second band was a Kelly Osbourne looking + Shampoo Ricki Lake, Janis Joplin singing group. I got up to go to the restroom and was having some troubs with the paper towel dispenser. Some guy from the other stall helped me get the paper towel out. I looked over and it was Har Mar Superstar. He was being all helpful samaritan. It was weird to have a normal conversation with someone you knew was gonna be jumping up on stage humping poles, flipping they hair, doing headstands and taking they clothes off. It was getting kinda late but Erin and I were pretty pumped for Har Mar. Fusa was fighting to stay awake. We stood up to see the rest of the show. It was pretty entertaining. I laughed alot. I couldn't stop laughing at him flipping his hair. He did a pretty good cover of Stevie Wonder - You Can Feel It All Over. I had a really good workout at that show.
