06.15.2002 - Whitney Bite, Magas, Adult., Trans Am and the Red Wings Maelstorm

MagasI went over to the Whitney to give Bite some artistic support and eat some food. First off, I ate like a maniac, let me tell you. Too bad the only food that was there that wasn't Salt-Town was the Dinosaur Eggs and the desserts. Now let me break down the freakdom. There was a guy there that was so skinny it looked like he swallowed a vacuum and turned it on. A drunk girl came up to Adam and Chris and said "Hello!!! You fabulous boys." Good fun, Bite. Sorry everyone left early because of the Wings.

I headed over to the Adult./Trans Am show even though everyone was telling me the curses of closed freeways if the Red Wings win. The opening act was a guy from Chicago by the name of Magas. This guy was so wack. He had so much energy. He was dancing more than he was playing/singing. He was dancing so hard and bad, it was hilarious. A real crowd pleaser, yo. There were separate times where he knocked over his mic, almost knocked over his equipment, fell on the ground and almost knocked over Adult.'s equipment because he was dancing so hard. I think I might go to see him again if he comes to town because the performance made such an impact on me. The whole time watching it I kept asking myself "Is this For Real?" The obvious answer is FO SHO.

Adult. went on after that. They played a good solid set. They played alot of new songs and the ones that I wanted to hear. They never play Dispassionate Furniture, though. Maybe someday they will. Trans Am also played a great set. The drummer is like Animal from the Muppets on crack. I think they called Trans Am cuz they play as fast as a Trans Am drives. It was vocorder night at St Andrew's, FO SHO.

I had to go through 40 Red Wings victory celebrations before getting to I-75. I high fived so many people it was insane. The funny thing was I was tired so I really had no expression on my face. So I was like a robot high fiver. That pretty much was the end of the night. By the way, I got home at 12:30AM so booya, Tarry. How's that for your traffic time stop?
