12.05.2001 - Pete Yorn: Live
I looked at Pete Yorn's Web site before I went to the show. You know, to get a feel for
what he was gonna play. Some artists post their setlists from previous shows. He is one of them.
Anyways, I went to the Roach with Brad and Melissa before the show. I realized that it had been
over two months since I had the Temptation Blackened Buffalo Chicken with Bleu Cheese dressing.
It was good but I missed the Tomato Tortellini soup. After dinner at the Roach, I headed toward
St. Andrews. I was stopped by a bum who asked me if "I could do him a favor" I said "NO" and kept walking.
After I had walked past I realized how funny that was. I walked in the St. Andy's and watched Remy Zero
play their opening set. It was ok. They did a cool thing for their fans, though. After their set they signed
autographs in the Shelter to people who bought their CD at the show.
When Pete Yorn came out I couldn't help but notice the fact that he
looked extra homeless. Not to mention his guitarist was Scott Stapp from Creed. I was just waiting for him to yell out
"Can you take me higher?" but he didn't. It was good that
I checked the previous setlists on the Web site because I called almost every song. Their was only one song that
I wanted to hear that he didn't play. Thanks Pete.
On my way back to my car a new bum was in the same place
as the favor bum. He stopped me and said "Hey sir, can I ask you a question?" Of course the answer was a dirty
look and "NO". I want to grab all of these dumb bums and yell to them that I don't have a job so they ain't gettin
nothing from me. You know what, even if I did have a job I wouldn't give them money. They'd just waste it on booze, drugs or
cigarettes. I'd give money to people who
really need it like me, people I buy presents for and Sally Struthers. Cause she sure is hungry.
