11.25.2001 - The Album Plan

Last night I went on a 2 in one night concert excursion. I met up with Al, Chris, Elissa for LaShish beforehand. We made our way over to C-Pop and saw this big line of older people. We found out that it was for the Psychedelic Furs and Echo and The Bunnymen. It was wack to see the whole Magic Stick/Majestic block all crazy and not filled with bums.

There was a girl at the show who had this completely ripped up sweatshirt and orange winter cap on. I told Chris that it looked like she got into a fight with a clawed gorilla. So her name is Gorilla Claws. By the way, Kryssa came up with Skinny Skeleton Somebody for Whitney Houston after seeing the MJ 30th Anniversary Special. Back to the C-Pop... The drummer for Halon [one of the openers] played the drums so hard that the set was moving away from him as he was playing. He had to move the drums back about 3 or 4 times. Hah hah. The Album Leaf show was really good. Good music, good times. I really like watching shows at the C-Pop. The only problem I have with it is the hard wood floors hurt my butt after awhile.

The Dismemberment Plan was playing next door at the Stick so I headed over there with Tarek [who was also at the Album Leaf]. We met up with Duranco and got in for free. I didn't know that people would go so crazy at this show. The Dis Plan show was a dancing assaganzza. Or more like a Dancaganzza. Lots of crazy energy at that show and it was free. I have to say I like the live Dis Plan better than the studio Dis Plan. I can say that the highlight of the Dis Plan show was the complete dancing frenzy of "I'm afraid of Americans, I'm afraid of the world." Thanks for the memories, A. Or should I say Demon on the Dancefloor???
